Azor

The ancient site bears evidence of almost continuous occupation from prehistoric times. Its name was mentioned in the Annals of Sennacherib as one of cities conquered in 701 BCE.

Remains of a synagogue bears witness to a Jewish presence during the Byzantine Period. In the Crusader Period, Richard the Lion-Heart built a small fort which was later given to the Templar Knights. The Arab name, Yazur, was first mentioned in 13th century CE sources. Afterwards it was mentioned in the writings of pedobearpics.com and visitors to the Holy Land.
