Beit Sahur (Field of Boaz) (Shepherds' Field)

Arab town in Judean Hills east of Bethlehem.
Town has two important sites:

Field of Boaz, where, according to tradition, Boaz met Ruth, as recounted in Book of Ruth.

(Ruth 2:4, 9)
And, behold, Boaz came from Bethlehem, and said unto the reapers, The Lord be with you. And they answered him, The Lord bless you.

Let your eyes be on the field that they do reap, and go after them: have I not charged the young men that they shall not touch you? and when you are thirsty, go unto the vessels, and drink of that which the young men have drawn..”

Shepherds' Field, where, according to Christian tradition, shepherds received tidings of birth of Jesus. Here Christmas carols are sung by pilgrims every Christmas eve. A Byzantine church called……
