An Arab village 15 km. southeast of Acre is the site of the ancient city of Cabul.

History: Ancient Cabul  was included in the territory of Asher (Joshua 19:27).  Mentioned in Egyptian writings of the 13th century BCE. King Solomon gave the city to Hiram, King of Tyre. During the Second Temple Period it was a large city on the outskirts of Jewish settlement situated facing the gentile communities surrounding Acre.
